enliven facilitates the South East Prevention Leadership Group (SEPLG) which aims to apply systems thinking and collective impact approaches to identified health prevention priorities. Key partners in this work include local Councils and health service providers in south eastern Melbourne. Obesity was determined to be the highest priority for collective action by this group.
enliven is working with Health Futures Australia (HFA) in collaboration with the SEPLG in the early design of a long-term platform for systemic change to reverse obesity in the south east. The primary aim is to co-design a multi-level and dynamic local platform to reverse obesity and positively impact preventable chronic disease through whole of community approaches.
It is based on a solid evidence model, builds on insights from Healthy Together Victoria and aims to achieve sustainable change through a genuine collective impact approach.
Early development phases are underway, aimed to understand the current systems influencing obesity and the potential for leadership and change. This forms the basis of the vision for viable system change which will enable new experiments, initiatives, movements and ultimately system transformation.
