Vals’ Cafe surveyed older LGBTI people, community members and service providers on their perspectives on the influence of workforce diversity on LGBTI inclusive aged care services. As all staff have values and beliefs that influence service provision, survey participants called for organisational leaders to clearly communicate to staff the organisation’s position and requirements related to LGBTI inclusive services. The Same Page resource was developed to promote conversations and action.

The Monash Gender Dysphoria clinic aims to assist clients experiencing Gender Dysphoria through conducting specialists mental health assessments relevant to gender dysphoria in accordance with international guidelines.
-Referring where appropriate, to experienced private clinicians who are able to assist with hormone therapy, surgery, psychotherapy or voice therapy.
-Providing ongoing mental health support during an individual’s gender transition.
-Conducting multidisciplinary meetings to co-ordinate care for clients.
THE NEW SEX DISCRIMINATION COMMISSIONER IS KATE JENKINS
The Australian Human Rights Commission is pleased to welcome Victorian lawyer Kate Jenkins as the new Sex Discrimination Commissioner. MATRIX GUILD VICTORIA
Matrix Guild Victoria Inc. was founded in 1992 by a group of lesbian feminists for the benefit of lesbians over forty years of age. They promote appropriate care and support for older lesbians. Matrix can supply a speaker to present to your organisation on any topic relating to older lesbians. They frequently present to Aged Care services to improve awareness about the needs of lesbian clients.

Vintage Men can enrich their social lives with diverse activities, such as the arts, entertainment, gay issues, counselling and other facets of healthy living.

Seahorse Victoria Inc was formed in 1975 as a support and social group for the Victorian transgender community and is the longest running organisation of its type in Australia. It aims to create a safe and supportive space in which those who identify as transgendered can meet.

Switchboard is a volunteer organisation which provides a free, confidential and anonymous telephone counselling, referral and information service for the Victorian and Tasmanian lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex communities and their supporters. The telephones are answered by trained volunteers who themselves identify as LGBTI. Switchboard is a partner in QLife Australia and also provide a volunteer service, Out and About, a volunteer based home visiting service for older LGBTIQ Victorians.
